Amy Walls is a Licensed Electrologist and owner of Permanent Enhancements in Troy, Ohio.

RBA: We have known each other for many years and have had such interesting conversations. Your desire to build a successful business, no matter what the project or job was, came up in many of our conversations.
What specifically influenced your decision to be an electrologist? The desire to succeed, to inspire, or be of service to others?

Amy: It is true that I have had many chapters in my life that I have headed down, enjoyed, and yes, felt challenged. I felt then as I do now that life is a journey and we all must live and evolve into being the best person we can be.

What specifically led to my decision to become an electrologist were the skills and passions that God built into the pages and chapters of my past.
I had a face full of course hair when I was seventeen and shaved twice a day attempting to hide my embarrassment and shame. In my mid-20s, after experiencing electrolysis for myself, I realized that with my love for detail and creativity, I could inspire others to achieve positive self-worth and confidence through electrolysis. I received my Medical License to practice electrolysis in 1994.

RBA: Do you believe electrolysis is a form of self-care?

Amy: Oh, absolutely. Feeling confident and beautiful in oneself is absolute in our fast-paced and stressful lives.

RBA: One thing we share is the love of animals, dogs in particular. Over the last couple of years, you have become a pack leader, right? What is that like?

Amy: Yes. I have trained horses and dogs most of my life. Raising a litter of six puppies and starting their training in the womb has always been on my bucket list. The puppies are now 14 months old, and we are training them as companion dogs.

My husband and I have enjoyed the experience and the energy of the puppies.

RBA: At the end of a long day, does it help to know your dogs are waiting to share all their amazing energy and unconditional love when you get home?

Amy: Oh, yes! For my husband and myself, our canine friends help with our self-care. I cannot tell you the number of smiles and giggles this bunch gives us every day.

RBA: Was there one thing on your career journey that made all the difference in you becoming a successful business owner? Any advice you would like to share?

Amy: Let God lead. Demand from yourself to give exceptional customer service, actively listen to feedback and strive to exceed customer expectations.
